Jhonka hawa ka...

One of my old friends and batch-mates went to our college after many years and after coming from there he sent a mail about what all has changed and what has not changed in the college. After reading his mail I remembered our college time and wrote a poem for my memories. Here is the poem.

Jhonka hawa ka...

Suna hai hokar aaye ho tum un galiyon se dobara
Jahan beeta hai jeevan ka sunhera waqt hamara
Jahan jee li thi chaar sadiyan hamne sunder khayalon me
Zara batao hame, kya kuchh badla hai wahan in saalon me

Kya aaj bhi lal chownk pe dost ikathe hote hain
Kya aaj bhi dosti ki geherai ko samajh kar wo rote hain
Kya hai koi aaj bhi classes me bunk lagane wala
Kya dikhta hai koi group deckie hostel se aane wala

Jhonka hawa ka aaj bhi GH ki khushbu lata hoga na
Doston ke saath party me utna hi maza ata hoga na
Stage par 'welder' naam aane se aaj bhi thahake lagte hain kya
Aaj bhi ladke hostel me bully ki acting karte hain kya

Kuchh zyada nahi badla hoga mein jaanta hoon
Haan kuchh naye kalre, khator aur macky aaye honge manta hoon
Par kaun badlega hostel wale un pedon ko un laal deewaron ko
Jinme goonjti hain awazein hamari, un galiyaron ko

Kaun badal sakta hai in sab baaton ko
Koi nahi badal sakta hamari yaadon ko
Sochta hoon un dino ko jab to sapna sa lagta hai wo pyara
Suna hai hokar aaye ho tum un galiyon se dobara...

More Risk, More Profit …really?

Well, seemingly this doesn’t sound like a debatable thought to many people. Most people do believe in this statement and the remaining people just make it ‘calculated risk’ in place of ‘risk’ and then they are also OK with the statement. I differ; until the risk is so much calculated that there is 100% surety that even if there is no profit, there will be no loss at least. Then technically, it is no more a risk actually.

Life doesn’t give warning messages, mostly. There are risks by default in every action. We should try minimizing them rather than adding to them. I have seen successful people who took big risks in their life and also, I have seen people getting equally successful without taking risks. In both these categories, I think that people who took risk were luckier, as even after taking a risk they succeeded! So if you think that you are luckier than the 'normal' masses, then you may choose to take the risks. On the other side, I have seen people ruined and dispossessed of almost every enjoyment they originally had, just because their ‘big risky step’ did not take them to the right direction. But I have not seen anyone losing everything because of not taking a risk. So in the end, I ordered my brain to compile these stats and present the results in 'human readable' form for me. It obeyed. The results presented by it were as follows:
Master! (I still rule my heart and brain), you have seen four types of people, videlicet

1. Who have not taken any risk and not lost anything (neither losers nor gainers),
2. Who have taken risks and lost most of it (losers),
3. Who have not taken risks and achieved things (gainers),
4. Who have taken risks and achieved things (gainers).

So the calculations say if you want to be a gainer, you have two options: 1. Take risks or 2. Don’t take risks. And if you want to be a loser then you have only one option: 1. Take risks!

In other words, it can be explained as this: The fruits of good and bad are attached with each other in this world; your work is to separate the bad from the good and consume the good. If you choose to take the risk of not separating these two and consuming the whole fruit as it is, then in fact you are running away from your duty by choosing the easier path. Of course taking risk is the easier path, anyone can do it by putting in less thoughts. The mettle of your effort is proved in not being swayed by the tempting results and making a risk free, intelligent decision.

Unforgettable Future

Returning to the earth
Birth after birth
To realise own worth
Searching abundance in dearth

Impossible it may seem
Chase those dreams
With hope and esteem
By laser like beams

Some may be fulfilled
Others yet to be
Persevere and explore
Learning will be the key

Float on the moon
Dance on the mars
Illumine in the sun
Sparkle in the stars

Visualise that picture
Internalise that scripture
Time to nurture
An unforgettable future

Waking up...

Sometimes things don’t happen the way you want them to happen and sometimes they do. I did not want to get laid-off, but it happened …and I wanted get a job again without a break, then that too happened! So I saw that most of the things are not under my or anybody’s control, but what is more important is to remain awake and see what is happening, how is it happening and what is there to learn from it. Luckily I learnt some good stuff from this episode. After every such learning, I feel more awake.

By default, there is darkness in this universe. You need sources of light to see the path. At different stages of life, we get different torch-bearers in the form of gurus. These gurus don’t pour any magical syrup into your body …they just make you awake; more awake. They tell you where are you standing and what is there ahead on the path. When I was in school, I had school teachers to guide me, then after I got into college, I got college teachers and then in the job I got mentors in the company. Outside the boundaries of specific studies and job, there are teachers of life too. For every turn of life and every new destination, there is an appointed guru for everyone. One day someone had told me that one should choose his guru very carefully and after six years I think that I have started understanding its meaning.

Often, getting on to conclusions of abstract teachings is not very easy. These are not the mathematical equations which are bound to give you the desired and expected results, but still I will try. From the latest Guru, Dr Deepak, what I have learnt is to identify my strengths and liabilities. Identifying what best and worst can happen to me at the time when I am in a problem. Then using my strengths how can I work for the best and knowing my liabilities how can I prepare for the worst. And this is what I would call as the ‘waking up’. A satisfaction of the realization that you really tried, is much more than getting the desired results without putting in efforts. So whenever life gives you a bang, you should know that it’s time to wake up!

What is progress?

I write an article, I like it, I read it again and I like it again, people praise it. I see that article after six months and I find mistakes and scope of improvement in it. I smile at my immaturity at the time of writing that article.

I pay for a service, somehow I don’t get the returns, I go to the vendor, I fight, I get the money refunded. I feel satisfied and a winner. After six months, I again pay for some service, I don’t get the returns again, I talk to the vendor on phone, I get the service and not the money refunded.

I face a problem while resolving an issue in my job. I work hard day and night to find a solution, I find the solution, I receive an award for resolving the issue. I never receive the award for resolving the same issue again.

Search of eternal love...

Getting into touch and being bestowed by the blessings of Dear Deepak Sir has been a fortunate event of my life.

Following is one of the extracts of one of the creations from the enlightened Guru himself!

Give a break to gloom & doom.
Allow heart to sing a tune
If you are/have been in love or love to be in love,
then read ...

Searching for a special heart
Tender, delicate and soft
Beats for me profoundly
When my heart feels ...
